F4E3 heating element open / no heat

An F4E3 means an open circuit in the electric heating element, so the dryer tumbles but blows cool air and clothes stay cold and wet. A burned-out element, a blown thermal fuse, or a blocked exhaust duct causing repeated overheating; the element resistance is tested (roughly 8 to 11 ohms when good), and the thermal fuse is tested and replaced alongside it.

F4E1 heater relay fault

An F4E1 means the heater relay is stuck open or closed and the board cannot reliably control the heater — a stuck-closed relay is a fire risk because the dryer runs very hot and will not cycle off. Welded relay contacts, a failed relay coil, or lint buildup raising the heater temperature; the dryer is stopped at the wall if it runs very hot and the control is tested.

F3E1 exhaust thermistor open

An F3E1 means the exhaust thermistor is reading open, so the dryer shuts down to prevent overheating and clothes come out damp. A failed exhaust thermistor, a disconnected sensor harness, or a blocked exhaust duct; the thermistor resistance is tested (roughly 10k to 50k ohms at 70F), the connector inspected, and the full vent path cleared.

F3E2 inlet thermistor shorted

An F3E2 means the inlet air thermistor is reading shorted (a false high temperature), so the board cuts the heater and the drum turns without heat. A shorted inlet thermistor, a pinched or shorted wiring harness, or moisture damage; the thermistor is tested for a near-zero short and the harness checked for pinch points before the board is suspected.

F1E1 control-board failure

An F1E1 means the main control board has failed internally or lost communication with the motor control, so the dryer stops mid-cycle, will not restart, or flashes all lights. A failed main board, a loose harness, or a power surge; a sixty-second hard reset is tried and the 240V outlet and visible connectors are checked before a genuine OEM board is fitted.

F6E2 control-to-UI communication error

An F6E2 means the main board lost serial communication to the user-interface board and the dryer halted, often with a frozen or blank display that worsens with vibration. A loose or damaged ribbon cable, or a failed comm circuit on either board; a sixty-second reset is tried, the ribbon cable is reseated at both ends, and the harness is checked for chafing.

F2E1 stuck keypad button

An F2E1 means one or more keypad buttons are stuck pressed, so the dryer beeps repeatedly and will not accept a cycle. A physically stuck membrane button, moisture or condensation behind the keypad, or a failed UI board; a thirty-second power cycle is tried, each button is pressed and inspected, and the panel is allowed to dry before any board is replaced.

Not heating, long cycles, or noise (gas WGD)

A WGD gas dryer that tumbles cold, takes far too long, or squeals and thumps points to the igniter, the gas valve coils, or the flame sensor on the heat side, and to a restricted vent, worn drum rollers, a stretched belt, or a seized idler on the mechanical side. The igniter is the most common no-heat cause on gas, and a restricted vent is the most common long-cycle cause overall.
